How to Preserve Those Precious Photos Forever

One way of preserving history for people is to preserve their most precious photos. It is through the photos of our ancestors that we were able to learn how life was in those days when we weren't even born in this world. Photos are also very good documentations of important happenings and events. One way of preserving our photos for a long time is by making canvas prints out of them. This method prolongs the life of your photographs and gives them a classy look. Factors that affect photographs
Humidity, sunlight, and extreme temperatures may affect the condition of your photos. Very hot, humid temperatures and very dry cold temperatures can cause photos to crack. This condition usually causes the emulsion or image to separate from its support or paper base. Other things that usually cause damage to your photographs are oil, dust, dirt, rats, insects, fire and water. How to care for your precious photos
Store your photos in a cool dry place with temperatures ranging from 65°F to 70°F with a 50 percent humidity. This would help retain their colors for a photo on canvas conversion. Avoid putting your photos in a cabinet adjacent to a sink or shower. Avoid writing at the back of your photos with ballpoint pen; this will stain your photos. Use lead pencils or acid- free pens when making marks on your photos. Avoid using rubber bands and paper clips on your photos, rubber bands contain sulfur that can damage your photograph and paper clips can scratch the surface of your picture. Do not store your precious photos in the attic or basement, extreme temperatures in these places can cause your photos to deteriorate. If you can afford it, make two copies of your precious photos and store them separately so that in case you lost the other one you still have a back up copy. Do not expose your photos to cleaning fumes, fresh paint fumes, or substances with sulfur dioxide. Use photo albums that are made from high quality plastic like polyester, polypropylene, and polyethelyne. For photograph developing and processing go to professionals only, they can enhance your photos without add-on cost. If you are to preserve your photos, choose photos that documents your most memorable moments, and put them together in a special album. You can constantly use this to tell your stories to friends and family. In short, you could use it as your storybook. You can also transfer your photo on canvas to display your favorite images.
