The city of London is one of the most vibrant cities in the world. It is filled with culture, history, power, glamour and a little rock'n'roll. No other city in the world comes close to what our capital city offers its residence and visitors.
There are plenty of sites to see in London. The London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Houses of Parliament, the West End and plenty of other famous destinations that make London stand out from the crowd.
Of course, London is a rather pricey city and with so much to do and see it's difficult to afford to do everything. Ultimately, accommodation must remain on the cost effective and affordable side and more practical side.
Now, cost effective usually causes a frown to appear on many people's faces but in London, this is the only way to go if you are on a tight budget!
A brilliant place to stay would be near Victoria Station. As one of the most prime locations in London you will have access to all the major points of the city via tube and will be in walking distance of the most vibrant part of town.
Now when you're looking for hotels near Victoria station I'm pretty sure you'll be presented with a rather impressive array of hotels. These will be mainly four and five star accommodation and all a rather too expensive. So what do you have to do to get an affordable yet still excellently located hotel?
Well, firstly don't go straight for the obvious. Look around online for BnB's and small hostels. The fear surrounding affordable hotels just has to be eradicated, as some consider them to have a bad reputation however cleanliness, centrally located and simple is what we're looking for right?
There are plenty of smaller hotels with only a handful of rooms available in London; you just have to scour the search engines and booking sites correctly. You need to assess the distance between your location and where you want to visit, look at what the transport will cost and whether this cost will avoid the point of looking for anywhere cheaper, should you really stay in one of the more expensive hotels?
Either way, focus on Victoria station and scour the map surrounding your desired circumference. There will most definitely be a little gem hidden in there somewhere, as when you take into account location and affordability, this location really could be the place to stay if you are looking to explore London.
