Question ~
I dont remember who it was but seen a post saying she was interesed in the 24hr recovery and was told by you that she is not a good candidate because of her fear of pain.
Im interested in it also, however, I too am soooo scared. Also, I thought fear would be the reason someone goes for the 24 hr recovery, less pain and less recovery time. Im a little confused about this.
Answer ~
24 Hour Recovery is a team effort - it relies on both the surgeon and the patient using state of the art techniques and following instructions to the T.
Sometimes, fear and anxiety will get in the way of a patient really doing what we need them to do. What we ask is that they move normally - to be free and easy with their movements - so its not a terrible routine to follow. But if someone is scared that they can't or won't be able to do it and will require narcotics and more down time, they are better off using the more traditional techniques that will fit that bill or agenda.
24 Hour Recovery is truly an amazing process and those who live it and do it rave nonstop - they amaze themselves in how good they feel and how fast. They are people who have no down time, they want a better, fresher recovery that allows them to return to normal routine activities ASAP - they want to take care of their families and get back into their responsibilities. These techniques allow that to happen but each woman is an integral part of the process.
So yes, you are right, occasionally it pains me to work with someone and then pick up on cues and clues that tell me they probably will not do well with their part of 24 Hour Recovery. My job is certainly not to turn patients away - but it has to be a good deal for both parties.
It is just like the measurement system - most grow comfortable with and trust their measurements - trust their bodies - to determine size.......some have to see a 3 D image or want a promise of a cup size to feel comfortable - those things are easy but not accurate but for that patient it is the right thing.
So, the bottom line is......educate yourself about the issues and the options and take them for what they are worth to you and how they apply to you and the ps you are interviewing. You will be much better off in all your decisions simply by establishing a base of knowledge. That is what The Best Breast 2 seeks to do - help provide a foundation that all of you can use as you make your choices and to help you choose one of the best breast augmentation surgeons possible.
