- 1). Soak up as much urine as you can with a rag. Blot the urine, do not scrub or wipe too hard.
- 2). Create a solution of one part water and one part white distilled vinegar in a bowl.
- 3). Saturate the areas of the carpet or furniture with cat urine with the solution.
- 4). Allow the saturated area to air dry overnight.
- 5). Sprinkle baking soda over the area of the cat spray.
- 6). Mix one cup of 3 percent hydrogen peroxide with 1 tsp. of liquid soap in a spray bottle. Spray the solution over the baking soda.
- 7). Brush the mixture of the baking soda, hydrogen peroxide and soap into the fibers of the carpet or furniture with a scrub brush.
- 8). Vacuum up the mixture.
- 9). Repeat this whole process if the odor of the cat spray is still evident.
