• In Alabama, background checks can be obtained only by registered employers, law enforcers or the individual himself. Employers may use the Alabama Background Check System to investigate potential employees prior to hiring.

• Along with identifying information, an Alabama background check shows arrests, charges and convictions for both misdemeanors and felonies. The record also shows court records for the past seven years. Information from other states and from national databases is not included in the background check.
