I recently bought a kindle 2 from amazon, and have addicted to it since then. Why? My main reason was space, weight, and an unlimited supply of books. I travel alot, and consequently go through at least 2 - 3 books a trip. When I showed it to my work mates, they asked me if my boyfriend was really that boring that I had to resort to books. Ha ha, very funny. No, he's great company, but even his witty remarks end after five hours in the airport lounge.
I did a lot of research before I decided to buy the kindle. The only real competitor at the time was the sony ereader. The first reason I chose the kindle was the ability to download a book anywhere there's phone reception. With the kindle, I don't have to pre-plan my trip with all the books I'll read through. I can download it on the go, and almost anywhere.
The second reason I bought the kindle was its weight. Carrying 3 thick books on holiday is cumbersome, and heavy. I try to travel light, and only use hand luggage for short holidays. Three books in my suit case would take up half my space. The kindle fits nicely into my handbag.
The third reason is the unlimited supply of books...continue reading at The benefits of owning a kindle [http://bookreviewsforreaders.blogspot.com/2010/06/benefits-of-owning-kindle.html]
