Homemade Soap Making - How-To

Homemade Soaps are becoming increasingly popular especially now as we are all looking for ways to save a dollar.
When soap is homemade it has none of the chemicals and other impurities of soap that is made commercially.
You can make the soaps for personal use or you can have wonderfully fun gifts for family and friends.
Homemade soaps are a weekend project that is simple and fun.
Many of the recipes are very easy to follow and the results can be beautiful creations.
You have many options with colors and textures and smells.
The only thing you have to know to make your own soap is a soap recipe.
The process can be a little overwhelming at first with all the different types of ingredients and processes.
There are liquid soap, vegetable soaps, bath bombs, and so many more.
Liquid soap has become very popular because it does not leave the residue of a dry soap and would like the exfoliating benefits of using a loofah.
Bath bombs are a ball of soap that dissolve when dropped in the bath water and turn the water soapy creating a bubble bath effect.
Vegetable soaps are a gentle soap that has a smooth texture and will soothe your skin while you use it.
Vegetable soaps use a combination of oils - vegetable oil and shortening, coconut oil and lye.

The Olive oil, Lard and Sunflower oil should all be in the regular cooking oil section of the store.
Castor oil is sometimes found in the pharmacy section, sold as a laxative.
Coconut oil is sometimes found in the ethnic food section, or in larger stores, with the rest of the food oils.
Once you have the process down the possibilities are endless with you have the control on what ingredients you add.
Homemade soaps put you in control and can help for those with sensitive skin or allergies.
You have the option of adding ingredients that will avoid causing an allergic reaction and soothe sensitive skin.
You can choose not to use perfumes, dyes, and use all natural ingredients.
Some of us need more than a book to learn the art of soap making.
It is easier to see the actual process and there is an excellent book and video available that is everything you will need to know - it is a complete video that will show you step by step how to make the soap you desire.
