Have you ever seen how a child can take just about any object and make it a play thing? They can have more fun with the wrapping and the box than the toy when they are babies and they don't forget how to play with the boxes when they are older if you give them the opportunity.
They just need bigger boxes! I have seen the love of creativity in my own children and it teaches me to continually believe in good and to always try to find an answer.
If they can create such joy out of a simple item then I have unlimited potential to create.
Ballet tutus are one of those simple items.
I have seen my little two year old wear them around the house saying "I'm a princess daddy".
It is either that or she will ask if she is pretty and then say "I'm going to go show mommy".
She has taken this simple little prop and made it a piece of her wardrobe.
It is required for her to go outside and play with the kitty.
It is required to wear with her fairy wings as she walks through the store with us.
I am amazed once more at how a simple item can bring ear to ear smiles and bright shining happiness from my daughter's eyes.
Once again she has taught me that if I give just a little she will give back so much more.
The first day I saw her with two tutus on at the same time I had to smile.
She looked radiant with both colors brightening her smile.
She always wants to put something pretty on and of course has he favorite color.
It is a thrill to see that she enjoys life so much and wonderful to see her so happy with such a simple and small thing as a tutu.
I try to soak it all in while I can because I know how short these years will be.
She may continue to wear her tutus throughout her life but she will never have the same cute look she does while this little.
I am sure there will be more fun and great times to come but for now I am content to simply watch her dance to every song she hears in her favorite little tutu.
