I can look at wedding photography hours - just admiring all the magic. Their eyes seem to stolen glances across the aisle of the church to catch just the right time, the love she brings to a room full of other acquaintances and strangers alike. Yes, it's a nice time. But, as you know, the photographer is going to capture your moments just fine for you?
Photographic style is something one should consider carefully before choosing who they want to hire. Do not be afraid that the meeting with the photographer and ask to see a lot of pictures that they had taken to get what they can offer you and what you're more than likely going to end up with an idea. It's one thing to have a handful of great pictures please contact with potential customers, but you should ask to see a range of photos - black and white, color, sepia, panoramic and not just the wedding shots (if they have them)... All these things will give you your "eye" idea. An eye for detail something that not everyone is born with, and unfortunately, some of the photographers to get out there with your list of what they need to capture the day without sideways glance, what else is going on around them. Some of the most impressive pictures are FLOWERGIRLS hiking up their skirts to seal the dirt or grandmother's wiping away a tear to my beloved grandson or daughter getting married in the sight. These images may go unmet if your photographer does not have to think outside the box.
Also, make sure that you decide on your budget, but be reasonably flexible - you often get what you pay for. I do not think you can hire someone to-day at your job $ 400 and expect them to produce the same stunning views, a professional photographer will give you. There is a reason why wedding photography can be very expensive. It takes hours of work and then tripled hours work editing and make sure every image is absolutely perfect. This is your one day that you will never repeat again, if your photographer experienced enough to know what to expect and how to behave. No, but a photographer can be a wedding photographer!
Make sure you get along with the person who will actually be taking your pictures! Do not book a large print company, only to have someone rock up on the day, when you have never met, and interfere with. It will ruin your day if you're fuming over them bossing you around like Hitler with a camera.
If you can, see if you can get your photos on a CD in high definition - it is something that most photographers do not offer - but it's worth it to get it and it will save you a lot of money in the long run. All family members will be able to get the pictures, you can use Facebook or your thank you cards in the images, you can print your images on your lounge canvas or a coffee table book made the bridal party to thank them for their efforts... but if you do not have the rights to your photos, it will all be very expensive.
Finally, to be relaxed enough to go with the flow - if you're uptight your day, it will show in your photos.
Good luck choosing and all the best on your big day!
I run my wedding photography business in Perth, Western Australia. I have been a photographer for quite a few years and love to capture weddings, family portraits and newborn. As a portrait and wedding photographer, I have come to love to communicate with families and capturing their ways together - it is a special job, so I am still very passionate about.
