Future Perspective
As travel to worldwide destinations becomes more accessible, neurologists should be aware of travel-related infections and noninfectious conditions presenting with neurological manifestations. Travelers may present with a myriad of neurologic symptoms, and clinicians should be aware of neurological diseases that travelers are most susceptible to. In the coming years, enhanced diagnostic laboratory tools and imaging techniques will aid in diagnosis of these challenging cases. Emerging infectious diseases will continue to challenge clinicians and scientists, and neurologists must be aware of emerging neurotropic conditions (Figure 1).
