I am going to start by saying the Conair's Infant Sound Machine & Relaxation Clock Radio, model SU7 is marketed as a baby sound machine but it is nearly identical to a more expensive model that is marketed to adults that has less features.
So this is equally good for adults as well as babies for a sound machine for sleeping.
You might as well save yourself some money.
Here is another great use for this machine...
I turn this machine on when my dog is afraid of fireworks or thunder and it calms him right down.
Lull yourself into a restful sleep with a choice of 10 soothing sounds that include summer night, white noise, thunderstorm, running stream, ocean waves, songbird, rainfall, tropical forest, waterfall and heartbeat.
This unit can function solely on four AA batteries, which is rather unique when comparing this to other clock radios, so this is great as a travel sound machine.
There is an AC power adapter if you don't want to use batteries.
This is very easy to operate, you don't need the manual (all though it does come with one).
There is a 10 minute extension on the snooze, but you only get 3 extensions without turning off the alarm.
The sleep function has options from 15 to 90 minutes.
You can choose the alarm to play radio, buzzer or nature sounds.
There is no line-in to connect a CD player or MP3 player but it does come with a headphone jack.
One negative to the Conair SU7 is the blue backlighting the digits.
It can be hard to see the LCD digits on the clock because of the blue backlight at some angles.
They should have chosen a high contrast color such as green or red?? Also the light is bright for my taste, but I turned the unit around facing the wall, so now it makes for a perfect nightlight.
The sound quality is good enough for it's purpose but definitely not CD quality.
It is a bit better than HoMedics natural sounds machine and there are more choices than Timex nature sound machines but this is a bit higher in pitch not like a white noise sound machine.
But I do find these sounds to be more realistic than some of the lower pitch machines.
