Today's digital cameras have so many functions and features on them.
You may have a digital SLR or a digital point and click, but neither camera is really a point and click.
You have to be on the correct settings, or when you point and click the picture is just not going to come out the way you expected it to.
That being said, one of the most important digital camera tricks and tips I can give you is to learn your camera.
To do that you must read the manual from cover to cover.
Most people get new things or toys and do not want to read the manual, they just want to get right to the playing part.
I am one of those people.
I hate reading manuals, but I have learned from experience the digital camera manual is a must read.
It will explain all of the functions: like the landscape function, the night function, the portrait function and all of the other functions on the camera.
After you read the manual, then you really should play with your camera.
Practice taking pictures with each function, do not let yourself get too comfortable with one that you never switch to the others.
You never know what you might be missing out on if you only take pictures with your camera set to automatic or portrait.
Another one of my favorite digital camera tricks and tips that I am going to share with you, is to play with the macro mode.
Many people are not even aware that their camera has a macro mode.
The macro mode allows you to really get up close to your subject, and capture the finer details.
I have taken beautiful shots of flowers and butterflies using my macro feature.
Sometimes, I am disappointed to find that my shots come out a bit blurry.
This usually happens when I am in a darker area and the shutter has to stay open a little longer.
When the shutter stays open longer, the camera has a chance to pick up the slightest movements of your hand.
When possible use a tripod for taking pictures with your digital camera, if a tripod is not available you can place your camera on a table or some other sturdy surface to help you avoid those blurry shots.
