According to Woodall's Directory, approximately half of Railroad Park's spaces include full hookups—water, sewer and 30-amp electricity—or partial hookups with water and 30-amp electricity only. Three sites offer 50-amp electricity. Each camping space has its own fire ring and picnic table. Amenities include an on-site laundry room, a game room and shower blocks. While it's a commercial campground, bear sightings are common here: Staff chain down the dumpster every night to protect against unwanted visitors.

    Castle Crags State Park

    • The 6,000-foot high limestone crags that tower over Interstate 5 point the way to Castle Crags State Park. The campground doesn't offer electrical hookups but does have tourist information, historical markers and 27 miles of hiking trails. Castle Crags State Park's 76 developed spaces can accommodate rigs up to 27 feet long and offer fire rings and picnic tables. You can hike or drive up to the vista point for a closer look at the rocks.

    • Antlers RV Park and Campground is located in Lakehead, approximately 10 minutes from Castella. The year-round RV park has 115 sites, including pull-throughs and tent camping spaces in a wooded setting. The campground offers both 30 and 50 amp electrical service. Amenities include a laundry room, playground and volleyball courts. The store sells basic supplies and offers a swimming pool. The sites have full hookups and include satellite TV, picnic tables and fire pits. Antlers also offers a snack bar with an open-air deck for picnics.
