I found out about this campground on the Internet, and I RV camped there in March 2010.
Describe your camping trip:
Fronts the Mississippi River, built on the grounds of an historic plantation, beautifully landscaped, pool, hot tub, movie room, historic church, free tour of the mansion was delightful, US post office on the property.
Pros: This was the best camping experience we have had in our over ten years of travel.
Not kidding a bit.
Cons: We could not extend our stay, because of the demand from new arrivals.
Nearby attractions: Houmas House very close, this attraction won the 2010 best attraction in the entire state, Seafood and Fiddler Night happens every Thursday Night, daytripped with easy access to New Orleans (30 minutes east) and the state Capitol Baton Rouge (30 minutes west). We ate at a half dozen restaurants and tasted why Louisiana food is world recognized.
Further comments: A visit by us again to Louisiana will definitely be the base camp we look forward to returning to.
