How to Get Contact Cleaning Solution Out of Your Eye

    • 1). Remove your contact lenses. If your lenses are still in your eyes, remove them immediately.

    • 2). Flush your affected eye with cold water. Hold your eyelid open, and allow water from your sink faucet to flow into the eye. Flush your eye for 15 minutes.

    • 3). Flush your affected eye multiple times if necessary. If you are still experiencing pain and burning after one wash, continue to flush your eye until relief is felt.

    • 4). Wear your glasses. Avoid putting contact lenses back in your eyes immediately.

    • 5). Seek medical attention. If you experience severe pain and burning that cannot be relieved by flushing, contact your eye doctor or visit with a local emergency department.
