Even though there are several varieties of lobster that are fished over a large stretch of the northeastern coast of the country, Maine lobster has become synonymous with the finest grade of the fish. Established in 1936, their fleet consists of a number of turn-of-the-century tall ships retired from the coastal cargo trade. The crown jewel of the menu offered during the trip is the traditional New England Lobster Bake. The Maine lobsters are cooked over a driftwood fire on a deserted island and served with clams, corn, cheeses, salads, a vegetable buffet and roasted marshmallows and s'mores. The boats accommodate up to 29 passengers and allow children over 12 with an adult. The cruises leave from Camden and sail through the Maine islands on a journey set by each day's wind and weather.
