- Do let the cruise line know you are on your honeymoon (as well as the airline), as honeymooners normally receive special treatments, extra benefits, and free items such as a fancy meal, a cake, a drink or a gift.
- Do make sure you don't get seasick; don't leave it till the last minute to find out if you are susceptible to motion or sea sickness.
If you start feeling nauseous or woozy, check with the ship's doctor and ask for any possible remedies for motion sickness.
- Do be polite to the crew; the more polite you are the better you are treated and the more willing they are to serve you, particularly with your cabin attendant.
- Do attend the lifeboat drill, find out where the exits are and how to wear a life jacket.
Be smart about your safety on board and when you get off.
- Do read the itinerary for the next day to make sure which places you will be visiting, and to know what's going on board and off board.
Make the most of the site seeing trips when you land and of the entertainment on board.
And pay special attention to timings.
- Do interact with other travelers, play games and make new friends, but also make sure that you spend some quality time together alone.
- Don't over pack; make a list of the items and clothes you will need beforehand to prevent over packing.
You will need a mix of casual and at least 1 formal outfit.
Check the weather before you travel in order to pack appropriately.
- Don't be late.
If you go out on your own while the ship is in port, make sure that you know when the ship will be sailing again and be there an hour before that.
The ship will not wait for you; it is on a tight schedule and will leave promptly.
- Don't let your guard down.
We know your honeymoon is all about enjoying yourself and relaxing with your partner, but you should be smart about how you do that.
- Don't forget to book your dinner table in advance, in order to avoid disappointments or long lines.
- Don't lean over the rails or try to enact the romantic scene of the Titanic movie.
It's not half as good or as easy as it seems! Enjoy your honeymoon!
