Affiliate marketing can be one of the most profitable forms of online income when it's done right.
But therein lies the problem.
Most people don't know how to do it right.
Most people start with the plan to spam their links all across the web especially various social sites.
Silly rookies If link spamming is your strategy for the long term, then you'll be disappointed and quick.
It can all be so very easy if you let it.
Yet most people will fail due mostly to impatience and ignorance.
Here are two main reasons why some people almost always fail in affiliate marketing.

No sales funnel Anyone who's been marketing for a while will agree that a solid sales funnel is instrumental in the success of any affiliate marketing business.
However, the sales funnel is one of those things that scare off the newbies.
If you are one of those people who don't like to get your hands dirty (you'll have to somewhere along the line) then don't fret.
Any decent affiliate program will have a ready made sales for you to plug into and start earning.

No list Building a list is hands down the easiest way to push an affiliate product.
How do you build a list you ask? It's very, very simple and it relates to the first reason why people fail in affiliate marketing.
Remember when we we're talking about the sales funnel? well the first step in a sales funnel is to drive traffic to what is called a capture page.
Stay with me now.
A capture page (sometimes called a landing page) is a page where people are directed so they can give their contact information (most commonly name and email) in exchange for more valuable information on whatever it is they're interested in.
But where do these people go once they volunteer information like their name and email address? They go to your auto-responder where they are stored and waiting for you communicate with them and ultimately sell to them.
You'll here this phrase time and again in the affiliate marketing industry.
"The money is in the list" And it's totally true.
Your goal in affiliate marketing is to grow your list as big as possible by sending traffic from various sources to your capture page.
The bigger the list the better.
So these are just the two main problems that keep people from succeeding in affiliate marketing, but believe me when I tell you it can get really messy.
If there's one thing you take away from this, just know that the list you build will be the most important asset in your affiliate marketing business.
