Learning how to make soap using cold process is easy & interesting. Soap is a item which is used every day in our homes. Hence it will be great if we make it by self. Soaps available in market are made up of synthetic items. But if we make it, we use only useful items which have no harm on skin. There are several soap making processes and one of them is Cold Process Soap Making. It is easy, fast as well as interesting. You can also use it. Due to easy making process, this method is popular among people. Before going to start making process, there are few tips which will help you to remain safe during the whole process and will make your work easier.
1. Always wear safety gloves. These gloves help you to remain safe from chemicals. If your skin is sensitive, then touch of chemicals on your hand may damage your skin. Hence it will be good for you to wear gloves. Also wear goggles.
2. Prepare the lye solution. The lye solution will be prepared according to quantity mate and amount of water. The water should be in appropriate amount. When you are preparing the solution, pour lye into the water not water into the lye & mix the both to make completely dissolved.
3. Hard is not suitable for soap making process. Hence try to avoid hard water. If you use hard water, water reaction may take place. Hence be careful before using it.
4. Measure ingredients in appropriate amount. Excess amount of any ingredient may cause reaction to the skin.
5. Keep a thermometer into the solution.
6. Place this solution out of reach of children.
7. Take the solid oil and melt it at medium heat. Continuously stir the oil. When the temperature reaches at 110 degree centigrade, turn off the heat. Now add the solid oil solution & liquid oil solution together into a soap pot and bring the temperature down.
8. Now prepare fragrance oil according to your choice, added colors, and additives. Now add lye water mixture as well as and prepared solution to the soap pot. Now blend all items together with a blender stick. Keep the pot aside and out of reach of children at a safe place. Cover the pot with a towel which helps it to maintain warm condition.
9. It takes 24 hours to harden.
10. After 24 hours, you can cut it into desired sizes.
