Summer is the season for fun, off-roading, exploring and adventure! Many people love to go off-road and do a bit of exploring of their own.
But to have the most fun, exciting and adventurous experience, you have to make sure you have the right kind of tires to endure your activities.
Tires are one of those things that most of the population don't know much about.
They just drive to work and back home without knowing much about what is responsible for their smooth drive.
There are many different types of tires for many different purposes, but generally they can be categorized into three groups.
The first type are All Purpose Tires.
These kinds of tires are on most cars and does extremely well on smooth surfaces like concrete and pavement.
So it's best for road and highway use.
They will perform generally well in wet and snowy weather.
The second most common type are All Terrain Tires.
They have a wider tread and it does much better off-road than the all purpose tires.
Because of this, they are also made tougher and do great in snowy or muddy weather.
The next category are Mud tires.
These are the kinds of tires that you want for off-roading.
They will help a vehicle drive, climb and crawl over rocks, sand and mud.
Mud tires come in much larger sizes than other tires and have more open and chunky tread markings.
But it's not so easy to just say you want cheap mud tires.
There are different types of such tires to serve different off-roading needs.
For example, if the mud and dirt is more slick on top, but is hard underneath, narrow tires are the most appropriate as it will work through the soft mud to find its way to the hard surface and drive on that.
Wider mud terrain tires will slide over the mud and hydroplane on the slick, top layer of mud.
The things you'll need to know, even when choosing cheap mud tires are the measurements of the tire, including the side wall and the kind of tread.
Both these factors will serve different needs while off-roading and if you have the wrong type, you'll be more likely to accidents and getting stuck.
Whatever cheap mud tires you choose for your off-roading experiences during your Summer, make sure you know what your needs are and something about the terrain you will be exploring.
Knowing these things will help you choose which tires are best for you.
