If you feel it's time you moved to a new hairdresser, you'll no doubt be keen to find one that gives you the cut and service you want.
Here is a 10 point plan to finding the right salon for you.
1.
Think about the reasons why you're leaving your current hairdresser.
These are some of the attributes you want in the next salon you choose.
2.
Ask your friends and your relatives for recommendations or, indeed, places that you should steer clear of.
3.
Next, draw up a list of all the salons that are easy for you to get to.
Consider using a local business directory online, as that will show you where they are on a map.
4.
Visit the websites of the ones you're considering.
You should get a feel for the type of salon it is and, in most cases, be able to check out their price list.
5.
Many business directories will offer ratings on companies, so you can get a feel of what other customers think about the salon.
6.
Call in for a visit and ask for a consultation appointment.
You'll get a quick glimpse of the place and see how busy they are.
Too quiet and it means they're probably doing something wrong; too busy and you might not get an appointment! 7.
At the consultation, discuss what type of style you'd like and ask them for suggestions.
Make sure they're on the same wavelength and understand what you want.
8.
Make sure you receive good service while you're there, from how you're greeted to how friendly the stylist is.
9.
If you're happy, make an appointment and go along for your first styling.
You may want to take in a phone, so they have a clear idea of what you want and you have something to judge them on.
10.
If you're unsure about the cut they give you, you may want to consider giving the salon another try by booking with a different stylist.
However, if you really don't like the end result, you may need to return to your list and try again.
As an example, if you're looking for a Cardiff hairdresser, why not use a Cardiff business directory?
