Immortal Beauty of the Taj Mahal in India

If there is one monument in the world that is known for love then it has to be the Taj Mahal in India.
It is one of the seven modern wonders of the world and people from all across the world come to see this remarkable monument immortalized in marble.
It was the Mughal Emperor Shahjahan who built this monument hiring the services of 20,000 laborers.
He built the it in the loving memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal.
However Shahjahan had to spend the last few years of his life in prison at the Agra Fort from where he could get a glimpse of the Taj Mahal.
His cruel son Aurangzeb had imprisoned him to get all power in his own hands.
It is situated in the serene city of Agra with the Yamuna River flowing behind it.
one thing that you should not miss apart form visiting the Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort is a boat ride at the back of the Taj in the Yamuna River.
You will be astonished to see the beauty of the Taj and the four minarets and also its reflection in the river.
The whole monument is made from marble and you will find Urdu writings in at the entrance of the Taj Mahal.
The tombs of Shahajahan and Mumtaz Mahal lay buried at the base of the Taj Mahal.
You can visit the monument from inside and marvel at its design.
Itl has been visited by the Presidents, Prime Ministers and ambassadors from many countries across the world.
The best place to take photographs is a platform that is built mid way on the way to the Taj Mahal.
Here you can sit on the bench with the Taj Mahal as the perfect backdrop and get a photo clicked.
However the it got affected from the pollution of vehicles and industries in Agra.
Hence the government has moved many industries further from the Taj Mahal and also no car is allowed within a km of the Taj.
You will have to park your car in the parking lot and then take a battery operated car to reach the gates.
You will find a lot of guides in their white shirts waiting to provide your complete information as to how the Taj was made and its architectural structure.
These guides are fairly good at their job but they are more interested in the commission that they will get from the marble shops after their commentary.
So if you don't want to do any shopping then simply say no to the guide.
And then you can also see the Taj Mahal on a full moon day.
Limited tickets are available for this spectacular scene and hence you should buy tickets well in advance.
During the night you can see the reflection of the dim Taj in the Yamuna River with the moon providing natural, backdrop light.
The journey to the Taj Mahal is an unforgettable experience
