Cats look sexier on modern furniture, and puppies, cuter. On a photography contest that I found called "Pets on Modern Furniture", the best to this point is the Chihuahua using a brown velvet Saarinen Womb chair . First of all, how did anyone come to the spelling of Chihuahua? Chi- Hewa-Hewa? Shouldn't it be Chijuajua, if we're going to keep on with traditional Spanish pronunciation? I know it's a neighborhood of Mexico plus the pronunciation doesn't always hold true, but it just bugs me. Like Oaxaca. O-aks-aka? I realize how to say it properly, so don't supply any guff about like a cultural troglodyte, because I ain't no troglodyte.
Furthermore, they're some seriously cute pets on some great furniture, but little Stella the Chihuahua within the famed Womb Chair Eero Saarinen created is amongst the cutest thing I've ever seen.
I'd hate to see what my cats would do today to a velvet womb chair. Liger isn't much of a scratcher, but Herman however, loves to stretch together with his whole 20 lbs hanging on 2 inch claws. Our old hand- me-down couch sounds like Freddy Krueger visited its dreams. If my couch has dreams, it might probably like better to certainly be a scratch-proof leather Saarinen Womb chair.
Finished . about these cats and dogs in the photo contest is, they appear almost like they really like the furniture . They even seem protective on the pieces. Would you destroy your favorite seat and risk your spot on the Womb chair Saarinen himself designed? Certainly no civilized domesticized creature with any class would dare besmirch a Saarinen Womb chair.
You know what's not cute in the womb? Babies. Thanks to the power of 3-D ultrasound equipment, every one of us could see how truly monstrous human beings are before they are fully formed. You determine what is cuter than a bug in a rug? A baby that is already born, about 9 months old. A dry, slime-free, skull mostly settled baby, sans clothing, in a Womb chair. Preferably smiling and/or sucking on his/her toes.
Or, maybe, a tiny little girl in pig-tails, understanding how to tie her shoes. Kids love the Saarinen womb chair, maybe for the same reasons adults and animals do. In all of the vibrant colors in which the womb chair is offered, it somewhat seems like a toy. A toy that is soft, inviting, comforting, a toy that you can sit on and feel cuddled all sides, like your Mom's lap.
