I often have members of my team ask me why they should go to the events. I hear comments like "what's the point?" "It's just a bunch of feel-good stuff" "I don't have the money to go". The excuses go on and on and I am sure you have heard them all, or maybe even said a few of them yourself as I have in the past. But when you put all that aside, what is the point?

First of all, let's take a look at who is telling you to go? Not only your sponsor, but usually the leaders in the company, right? How much money are they earning on a monthly basis? More often than not, usually in the six figures, right? I don't know about you, but when I meet someone that is earning an incredible amount of money, I listen to them! I learned a long time ago to surround yourself with people that you want to emulate. Well, guess what? I want to emulate millionaires! And since I don't encounter many in my day to day life, I am going to the darn events. When I socialize with them, I see they are just like me. Their heart beats the same as mine, they have 10 fingers and 10 toes same as me, they put their pants on one leg at a time same as me. It gives me a renewed hope….if they can do it, so can I because at the end of the day, they are no different than me. Being at the meetings fulfills that reality for me than just hearing some "mythical" voice on the weekly calls/webinars, much like a movie star and out of touch.

The other reason for events is they can be life changing. Not to sound corny or anything, but it is true. There is a power and energy in a room full of positive people who are all fulfilling their goals and dreams makes it is impossible for the body not to absorb the same feelings of hope and encouragement. Any time the body/mind experiences those feelings, it can only react in a positive and hopeful manner. I personally have experienced such a life changing moment. In addition, one of the most awesome things about events is the friends that you meet that soon become like family. So often people that run their own home based business are met with negativity at home from family and friends who don't understand the industry and criticize you for joining yet another opportunity, so isn't nice and refreshing to be surrounded by others who face similar challenges. Relationships are built that can last a lifetime and help support you through the hard times and help you build your business to incredible heights!
