Storage - How to Find the Right Storage

Finding furniture items with storage is an ongoing battle for many of our customers.
It seems that whether you live in a small apartment where the built-ins are just not quite enough, or a larger house that has few built-ins, finding storage solution that are attractive and integrate nicely into your living spaces can be a challenge.
Tip 1: Consider your wall space A basic TV unit will consume significant floor space, whilst leaving the wall area around the television unused.
The current range of wall units is designed to provide both open and concealed storage whilst maximising wall space rather then floor space, they also integrate your TV into your room by taking the focus off the TV.
Other rooms around the house could also be put to work; hang cabinets above your desk for your files, use floating shelves above your sofa or bed to make a wonderful display or use bookcases or room dividers in large open spaces to create more intimate spaces but also create vertical storage in the middle of the room.
Tip 2: Think outside the Square If you have loads of books or a collection of things that you want to display, consider a bookcase behind your bed or dining table.
The upper shelves will provide easy access to everyday items while the concealed shelves could be used to store items that you need access to rarely such as guest bedding or Christmas decorations.
The effect will also be that of a practical feature wall, displaying your favourite items.
Tip 3: Make use of small, unused walls Just because you can't fit a traditional storage unit on a small wall does not mean it cannot be put to work, using a couple of floating shelves or hanging cabinets could provide the storage you need without overwhelming the space.
For example, a small entry hall could have a couple of hanging cabinets hung at desk height, essentially becoming an entry console with cupboard storage, the fact that they are wall mounted will mean it does not look too crowded.
A couple of floating shelves underneath a window or two creates an instant bookshelf, a beautiful feature in itself and a handy trick if your space is too small for a larger bookcase.
Over the years, most of us have accumulated massive amounts of household clutter which we just can't seem to let go of.
Beyond Furniture have flexible space-saving solutions that can stand alone, be stacked or hung on the wall to help keep your home tidy and stylishly organised.
