Fish Plate by Chris Bouma

Fish Plate
Chris Bouma, 2009
35cm x 29 cm
Made with high-fire stoneware clay. Gas fired Kiln. Jade glaze.

Potter's Statement: [This is a] hand thrown piece {[that] was impressed onto a fish shaped glass to mold into a plate. My reason behind my choice: .My family love fish and chips (takeaway food) which comes wrapped in white butcher paper. I liked the idea of presenting our dinner on a fish plate, so made one.

Hope you enjoy my choice.

Beth's Comment: I like how you used a glass platter as a mold to create your own fish plate. Lots of "found objects" are useful in that way, whether using them as whole designs or only picking up part of their pattern.
