Creatinine Testing for Preventing Contrast Nephropathy

Creatinine Testing for Preventing Contrast Nephropathy

Conclusions

This study suggests that the results of POCT-BUN/Cr correlate well with the values obtained from reference laboratory tests. POCT-BUN/Cr is an easy method to perform with a rapid turnaround time. If this device can be implemented in an ED, it has the potential to reduce the occurrence of CIN, the time needed to achieve an accurate diagnosis and initiate treatment, and the turnaround time in the ED.
