Are You Looking for a Few Good Scary Games for Sleepovers?

A really scary game for kids to play is "Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board.
" I used to play this with my girl friends when I was younger - probably between like fifth and eighth grade (after that we were only interested in boys, of course!) This game is kind of similar to a Ouija board, and can be just as scary! So here's how "Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board" works: One person lies on the floor, flat on their back.
Then all the other girls (this happens at a sleepover, preferably in a darkened room!) surround the person on the floor.
  • Each girl puts two fingers from each hand under the girl on the floor, like they're going to lift her (of course they never could with only 2 fingers!)
  • Then everyone closes their eyes (including the girl on the floor) and concentrates on the lying girl to be light as a feather but stiff as a board.
  • Then everyone slowly, slowly starts to lift upwards, to lift the girl who is stiff as a board.
The effect is that everyone feels like they aren't lifting anything (she really is light as a feather!), but that the girl is somehow mysteriously floating on her own! (See, it is kind of like when you play with a Ouija board and even though everyone has their hands on the cursor thing, nobody thinks they're actually moving it!) If everyone is really serious about it, it can really freak everyone out.
Then slowly, slowly, while still chanting "light as a feather, stiff as a board", lower the girl back down to the floor.
Everyone gets to take turns.
Usually, after you have had a turn to be the one lifted, you feel really lightheaded and calm and maybe like you've even had an out-of-body experience.
How's that for a freaky sleepover! It'll make everyone's night.
Another good one for teens is to go to a graveyard (at night obviously) and stick a knife in front of the head stone in the creepiest looking grave you can find.
Then lay down on the grave with the knife still there.
The point of the game is to lay there for around five minutes and being able to stand up and honestly say that you did not feel a knot in the pit of your stomach.
I have not been able to do it yet.
It is best to do this game when it is a little cold outside because people are more on edge when it is cold out.
Another fun thing to do for teens is mess with an Ouija board.
It always gives a good scare.
Another fantastic game for teens is the Bloody Mary game.
What you do is you
  • go to the bathroom,
  • close the door,
  • and turn off the lights.
You look into the bathroom mirror and say "Bloody Mary.
Bloody Mary.
Bloody Mary...
" You are supposed to be able to see a woman who is wearing a white dress, and she is covered in blood.
If the bathroom is pitch black, I always like to have a sibling or a parent hide in the bathroom, come out as quietly as possible when the lights are off and the door is closed, and when you are all done saying your Bloody Mary's, the sibling or parent reaches out and grabs someone's arm! Make sure they get a firm grip.
Not hard enough to hurt them, but hard enough that they can't pull away.
You are guaranteed to get a scream.
It is a blast.
These games really only work on people who believe in ghosts and demons and stuff like that.
But either way, they are a lot of fun.
