The New Year is about new beginnings and new opportunities.
Like most people you might be worried about the increase in VAT and how it is going to impact your costs over the coming year.
For small businesses it is important to keep your costs low as although we are technically out of the recession there is no need to be unnecessarily extravagant.
So what can you do if you are a small business that wants to upgrade their entire commercial fleet or has to replace some of their older vehicles that are in need of retirement? Instead of buying brand new commercial vehicles think about starting to look at used trucks and vans.
For some businesses buying a used vehicle is a big no, no.
I've heard all of the excuses, how will I know if it is in good condition, where will I find the right vehicle, how do I decide what vehicle is right and how much should I pay for it, the list goes on.
Well the answer is sitting right in front of you, literally! The internet is great place to look for used trucks and vans.
You can search by type i.
e.
HGV, LCV, flatbed, curtain side etc to help you find the right vehicle for you.
Then you can look at reviews of the vehicle to get more information about the particular model.
Most dealerships don't let you buy the car, van or truck online, however there is another option.
Try looking at some online truck auctions.
You can find hundreds of used or new commercial vehicles and bid for them online.
Plus auctions are usually cheaper than going to a dealer so it's a no brainer.
Good luck replacing your new fleet and have a great 2011.
