- 1). Gather documentation such as a utility bill to show proof of residence in France. If you do not have an established residence, you can still open a nonresident account, which may have additional requirements such as a higher cash balance.
- 2). Prepare a letter indicating the reason for opening your account.
- 3). Make a photocopy of your identification, preferably a passport.
- 4). Obtain a letter from your current bank showing the length of time you have held your account, indicating that your account is in good standing, and confirming your address outside of France.
- 5). Gather the money you wish to deposit in the account. Some banks will do international wire transfers, however some will want the deposit to be in the form of a check or cash.
