Most people have seen, on T.
V.
, the spectacular sweet 16 bashes that some parents have for their children.
While most of these extravaganzas are beyond the reach and scope of most parents, a sweet sixteen birthday is really a milestone, and there are some sweet ways to make your child's sweet 16 party special without breaking the bank.
While some parents DO throw huge parties with hundreds of guests, most teens are satisfied with smaller, more personal parties as well.
One way to celebrate the new independence that often comes with a 16th birthday, a makeover is a good option for most girls this age.
By inviting from one to six special guests, and planning carefully, you can spoil and pamper your sweet 16 without breaking the bank.
Before you begin, make a decision to do nothing drastic without express permission from parents, or just opt to do a cosmetic make-over for everyone, or everyone except your child.
Hire a cosmetologist, or someone who does glamour photography makeovers to come to your home.
Even a student from the local beauty college would work, so the guests can be pampered with foot scrubs and massages, manicures, pedicures, facials, makeup, and hairdos.
Serve punch or flavored water along with your child's favorite foods, and be sure to offer healthy options for the guests.
Of course your child's favorite birthday cake and ice cream should round out the evening's menu.
If your sweet 16 girl has just gotten her license, consider allowing her to take her friends for a drive once their makeover has been completed.
This allows them to exercise their new freedoms while they show off their new looks!
