- 1). Mix together a solution of 1 cup of warm water and 1 tbsp. of gentle, non-bleach dish soap.
- 2). Apply the solution to a clean, soft cloth and gently scrub any areas of the furniture that are dirty or stained.
- 3). Wipe the scrubbed area again with another clean, damp cloth and allow the furniture to dry completely. Try to avoid getting too much water on the furniture.
- 4). Purchase a leather re-coloring balm or compound that is suitable for your leather furniture. If you are unsure what type of compound to purchase, contact a leather and upholstery store in your area and ask for advice. You will need to know the color of the leather you want to restore and whether your leather furniture is finished or unfinished.
- 5). Apply the leather compound or balm to a soft cloth. Using the cloth, rub the colored balm or compound into the leather in a circular motion, making sure that you cover the entire surface of the furniture.
- 6). Buff the leather furniture with a clean cloth, making sure that the color has completely penetrated the leather and looks even.
- 7). Allow the furniture to dry for at least 24 hours before using it.
