Types of Four Wheel Drives

The great thing about purchasing a four wheel drive is that you have a huge number of options.
The types of 4wds that exist today will cater for everyone, and that isn't even including what you can change them into with a few well done modifications.
Toyota, Nissan, Holden, GM, Ford, Chevy, Jeep, Land Rover, Range Rover and Suzuki are just a few of the types of four wheel drives that you can get, and every one of those manufacturers have made at least a few decent model vehicles.
Of course, some are not that good and you need to do your research into individual models before you fork out such a large amount of money.
The most important thing when choosing the type of 4wd is to make a list of what you want the vehicle to do.
There is no reason to purchase a four wheel drive that is huge if you are only going to use it to drive around town, or you are going camping with two people.
Likewise, there is no point buying a 4wd with massive off road capability if you aren't ever going to use it off road.
Make a list of what you want the vehicle to be able to do, and then work out your options.
If the vehicle falls short in any of those things that you have listed, put a few modifications on it and you will find that every time you can build the perfect 4wd.
Remember that an All Wheel Drive is not a 4wd.
All Wheel Drives are not as capable off road, and they are considerably more fragile as well.
